Players can approach the chest, but it is blocked off by cell bars and requires the [[Ultimate ~~key~~]] to open, which means the sword cannot be obtained until the final fragment of the past has been restored and the ~~[[Hero (Dragon Quest VII)|~~Hero]] is beckoned to the [[Cathedral ~~of Blight|cathedral~~ of light]].
