Lanson is a town found in the overworld of Dragon Quest III. It geographically aligns with the real world Australia. It is a small village with not much to offer, but the residents take pride in the colossal shrine they live near.

Appearances

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

Lanson is located on the southern continent and is only accessible via ship or by Ramia. It serves as the only access point to the Gaia's Navel dungeon, in which the Hero must explore alone.

Lanson is one of few locations that sells Fading Jenny, an herb that produces the same effects as the Fade spell. This item is useful in retrieving the Bottomless Pot in Edina castle.

Trivia

  • The name "Lancel" is likely derived from the Australian town of Lancelin. The name in the modern translation, "Lanson", may have been inspired by another Australian city, Launceston.
