Ramia is the legendary bird in Dragon Quest III. It can be used as an aerial mode of transportation in the overworld of Dragon Quest III. It was the first aerial transportation in the Dragon Quest series.
Hatching
Ramia's egg is located in Leiamland. It is surrounded by 6 alters made for holding the Six Mystical Orbs. Once all 6 orbs are placed on the alters, Ramia hatches and is available for traveling.
Flying
Ramia travels by air and thus avoids all enemy encounters. It is also able to travel over impassable mountains. This is necessary in order to reach the Castle of Baramos, the Castle of Dragon Queen, and Giaga Pit.
