Free Spirit (のんきもの Nonkimono,translated as carefree in the Game Boy Color version of Dragon Quest III) is a personality in the Dragon Quest III remakes, in Dragon Quest X, and in Dragon Quest: Monster Parade.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation edit

In the Dragon Quest III remakes, free spirit is a personality that improves resilience, wisdom and luck growth, but reduces agility growth.

At the start of the game, the Hero becomes a free spirit by receiving the final test of character in the theater. The hero must leave the theater without resolving the situation.

Other party members have a chance to be a free spirit when talent scouted at Patty's Party Planning Place, depending on their stat bonuses.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake edit

The free spirit personality has no influence on strength, increases resilience by 10%, decreases agility by 30%, increases stamina by 10%, and has no influence on wisdom or luck. There are no post-recruitment methods to turn a character into a free spirit.
