Mysterious Mist is an enemy-only skill that can be used by Night emperors and Demonspawns. It prevents the entire party and all enemies from casting spells for the rest of the battle, much like Fizzle. Unlike the Fog of War skill that appeared in later games, it would not cancel out the effects of any buffs that were already used beforehand. In the original NES version, the in-game text would state that "Eerie mists stream out and engulf area" when the skill was used.
- In remake versions of the game, the effect can be disabled either by using Disruptive Wave or the Zenithian sword as a tool in battle.
