Thunderbolt or Plasma Dome is an ability in the series. It launches an arrow charged with lightning at enemies.

Dragon Quest X edit
Thunderbolt costs 3 MP to use, deals 20% more damage than a normal attack +10 Lightning-elemental damage to a single enemy, and has a range of fifteen meters. It can be learned by a Ranger, Armamentalist, Sage, and Item Master by allocating 42 points into the Bow skill.
Dragon Quest X Offline edit
Thunderbolt costs 3 MP to use and deals 20% more damage than a normal attack +10 Lightning-elemental damage to a single enemy. It can be learned by the Hero as a Ranger, Armamentalist, or Sage through the Bows panel in their Character Builder. The damage can be increased further with Skill-Up Panels.
Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road edit
Thunderbolt makes its debut as an attack that can be used by Phantom fencer. It inflicts Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies.

Plasma Dome is known automatically by Bianca when she joins the party and costs 9 MP to use. It launches an arrow that creates a field of electricity on the ground that repeatedly causes damage and prevents enemies from moving for a short time. By holding down the button before it is launched, you can control where the field will be placed. Since it is a lightning attack, it is possible to short circuit monsters from the Machine family.
- Plasma Dome can be upgraded with the skill Plusma Dome, which costs 20 skill points to learn. It increases the duration of Plasma Dome.
Dragon Quest Tact edit
Thunderbolt is an enemy-only skill that can be used by certain monsters in high-level stages and boss battles. It costs 84 MP to use and inflicts major Zap-type martial damage to all enemies in a radius of 1 around the user.
