Rubies of protection have a defence bonus of 10 and a style bonus of 5. They can be bought for 3,500 gold and sold for 1,750 gold. With the exception of Kiefer, all characters can equip them.

Dragon Quest VIII

The ruby of protection provides a defence boost of +15. City of Orkutsk's Weapon/Armor Store. The chest behind the counter. Also sold at Argonia Bazaar.

Dragon Quest IX

Rubies of protection have a defence bonus of 10 and a one star rarity. They are described as "A sparkling stone that strengthens defence when worn." They can be created using alchemy by combining a dragon scale and a corundum. All classes can equip it.
