Characteristics edit
Sluggers are unusual, pink-skinned creatures with an appearance similar to that of an anthropomorphic flea or other type of bug. They are more known for dancing in battle rather than being genuine threats, hopping back and forth constantly and trying to get adventurers into the groove with their jigs. The sluggers also have the ability to raise the spirits of their fellow monsters in battle with their dance performances.
Appearances edit
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation edit
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies edit
Dragon Quest X edit
Sluggers began appearing in Version 4.4 of the game. Like their previous appearance, they are able to perform a Sultry Dance and can boost the Tension of other monsters with Egg On. They have also gained the ability to perform an Weird Dance and will call for backup from other sluggers.
Dragon Quest Rivals edit
Slugger appeared in the 3rd card pack, "Cries of the Phoenix and Mother Earth" as a rare card exclusive for Priest leaders.
Trivia edit
- The slugger's Japanese name Tentsuku (テンツク) is based on the word tentsukuten (てんつくてん), an onomatopoeia of taiko drums being played at a festival, relating to the monster's dancing abilities.
