Wave Strike is a spear skill which first appeared in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai as a creation of the hero Avan. It is the spear version of the Seasplitter skill.

Wave Strike is one of the fundamental techniques of the Avan-style spear school. The user swings their spear around horizontally at breakneck speed, which is able to strike through amorphous things like flame and water. Hyunckel begins using the technique after acquiring the Dark Armour Spear from Larhart.

Wave Strike appears as a skill for Hyunckel if he is wielding a spear and the Luminary Leader as a Hero or Warrior. It is a short range attack that inflicts physical Light damage over a medium area, becoming more powerful if the target is Wounded. The main way to unlock the skill is by playing during Hyunckel (Dark Armour Spear)'s recruitment event or from the shop exchange. Additionally, on March 1st, 2023, the development team gave all players a gift of 230 Wave Strike Scrolls as part of a Support Campaign to take on difficult quests.
