The Ornery Onion is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VI. It is an onion monster with a goofy face with limbs growing out of it.
Characteristics
The ornery onion is a bothersome bud that seeks to make a meal of farmers and adventurers that mistake it for a common cepa. This fetid foliage has another thing coming however; its weak stats leave it the one crying more often than not. Its saving grace are the medicinal herbs that grow from its head which it uses to heal its allies.

Ornery onions appeared from the beginning of the game, having their familiar ability to heal their allies with medicinal herbs. They will occasionally disguise themselves by burying themselves in the ground.
