Cautery sword
The Cautery sword (also known as Destruct sword and originally the Sword of malice) is a recurring weapon in the Dragon Quest series. If used as a tool in battle, it casts Sizz on enemies.

The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +45.
Dragon Quest V
The cautery sword has an attack bonus of +45. It can be purchased in Mostroferrato for 4,400 gold.
Dragon Quest VII
The destruct sword has an attack bonus of +42 and an appearance bonus of +23. It can be purchased for 5,400 gold and can be equipped by the Hero, Melvin, and Aira.
Dragon Quest IX
In Dragon Quest IX, the cautery sword can be upgraded to an aurora blade by the use of Alchemy.
