Appearances edit

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation edit

In the Dragon Quest III remakes, Lazybones is a personality that improves Strength, Resilience, and Luck growth, but reduces Agility and Wisdom growth.

At the start of the game, the Hero becomes a lazybones by receiving the final test of character in the forest. Before leaving the test, the hero must push no more than one boulder to the old man, or avoid the task altogether.

Other party members of any vocation have a chance to be a lazybones when recruited at Patty's Party Planning Place, depending on how many attribute-boosting seeds they have been given. There is no way to become a lazybones by reading a book or equipping an accessory.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake edit

The Lazybones personality increases Strength growth by 5%, decreases Resilience and Wisdom growth by 30%, decreases Agility growth by 40%, increases Stamina growth by 20%, and increases Luck growth by 10%.

At the start of the game, the Hero becomes a Lazybones by receiving the final test of character in the forest. Before leaving the test, the hero must push no more than one boulder to the old man, or avoid the task altogether. It is possible to create a character that starts as a Lazybones at Patty's Party Planning Place by distributing attribute seeds in a specific way. However, even by replicating the same method, it is still possible to end up with a different personality.
