Characteristics
The monster is a mechanical starling roughly the size of a human head that behaves much as its living counterpart. It's metal casing is a pale egg-white with blue accents for the plumage and gold for the legs. They are the successful result of a mad scientist's experiment, and can remain air born even when launching their feathers as razor sharp projectiles.

Clockwork cuckoo appears as a D-rank monster of the Inorganic family as part of the limited Dragon Quest X event. It can be recruited from the Clockwork Cuckoo stage of the Astoltia Ecological Survey and Chapter 2, Episode 3: Believe in Yourself during the limited True Dragon Quest X event at any difficulty. It could eventually be recruited in Part 4 of the main storyline in Chapter 1, Episode 3: Cordania in Crisis. The clockwork cuckoo can participate in Illusia's Battle Road as a party member.
Etymology
The clockwork cuckoo's Japanese name Gachakokko (ガチャコッコ) is a combination of the word gachapon, an onomatopoeia from the sound of a vending machine that dispenses collectible toys in a plastic capsule and kokekokkō, the sound a rooster makes.
