Dread Fiend
The Dread Fiends are a group of four powerful demons encountered in Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation. The four fiends hail from a place known as the Dread Realm, where they were sent by the Archfiend to invade the Lower World. Each Fiend would destroy prominent landmarks in the human realm to prevent humanity from amassing enough power to oppose their leader. Though each of the destroyed locations was preserved by humanities' dream within the Upper World, the Fiends then sealed away each place turning them into the vast pits that allow the Upper World inhabitants to visit the realm below. The seals only becoming undone should the respective fiend perish.

- Murdaw: The first of the Dread Fiends encountered; Murdaw is responsible for the destruction of Alltrades Abbey to prevent the creation of a Hero.
- Jamirus: The second of the Dread Fiends encountered; Jamirus is responsible for the destruction of Medford's Manor so no human is able to obtain the powerful equipment from the king.
- Gracos: The third of the Dread Fiends encountered; Gracos is responsible for the destruction of Sorceria in order to keep the spell Magic Burst from being taught.
- Dhuran: The fourth and final of the Dread Fiends encountered; Dhuran is responsible for sealing away Cloudsgate Citadel so the Dread Realm remains inaccessible to humans.
