The Gnashturtium is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, introduced in Dragon Quest II. It is a blue Chewlip that eschews sleep breath for spewing foul poisons instead. The weed is so toxic that even its normal attacks have a chance to envenom the Luminaries. Its name is a pun on the flower nasturtium and the English verb "gnash".

Characteristics

Gnashturtiums are giant carnivorous flowers that are taller than a full-grown man. They have blue petals with orange spots surrounding a maw lined with sharp fangs, pink leaves, yellow stems and roots, and green vines that swing about its body like tentacles.
