It was originally founded by pirates who tired of pillaging, and is now inhabited by their descendants. The coastline differs between day and night; at nighttime, the tides rise. When this happens the player is able to see the location of the Karstaway stone inside a small whirlpool, which is needed to enter the lower levels of the Cascade Cave and retrieve the fabled Sands of Time and Liquid metal sword.
