HighJump is a recurring skill in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest Monsters. When used, the monster jumps into the air in order to avoid attacks and delivers a more powerful attack the next turn.

HighJump requires the monster to reach level 20 with 140 max HP, 120 Attack, and 120 Agility. It can be learned naturally by CactiBall, MadRaven, RockSlime, SpikyBoy, and WingSnake. It costs 5 MP to use and protects the user from normal attacks for one turn and attacks the next turn with more strength.

However, the user can still be affected by spells while jumping and the attack can fail if they become affected by a negative status effect, such as paralysis, causing them to fall.

The requirements to learn HighJump have changed to 75 max HP, 70 Attack, 48 Agility, and 80 Intelligence. It can now also be learned by Gulpple and Gracos. Any monster that knows both HighJump and RockThrow can learn the skill Geyser.
