While the Hypernova Sword boasts the largest Attack increase of any sword (or any weapon, for that matter) in the game, it is not necessarily the best weapon for damage output. The Über Falcon Blade, while granting a paltry 26 Attack, will actually deal more damage under most circumstances. The only times the Hypernova Sword might see use would be for bragging rights (due to the extremely rare status of the item) or for attempting to lower the Defense of a boss without resorting to failure-prone spells such as Sap and still dealing damage regardless of whether Defense is lowered.
