Jailcat

The jailcat is a monster that, while technically debuting in the earlier Dragon Quest VIII, was exclusive to the DS remake of Dragon Quest V, replacing the Great sabrecub. It's possible to recruit one shortly after obtaining the wagon in Fortuna; the jailcat is somewhat unique being one of the earliest sources of ice magic (which normally isn't available until much later), and can last until the third generation.

Description	A feline monster with stripes reminiscent of a jailhouse convict. Strangely popular among cat lovers. Usually quite playful, but capable of casting spells when provoked.

Trivia

The Baby Sabrecat was probably removed and replaced because it may be confusing to some players of why you are trying to help a Baby sabrecat while other Baby Sabrecats are attacking you.
