Kaiser Phoenix is a spell originating from Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai. It is a variation of the spell Kafrizz used by Dark King Vearn that takes on the form of a fiery bird due to his unparalleled magic power. It overwhelms his opponent with hellfire, attacking them as if the flame were a living being. The spell has appeared in various spinoff games where Vearn makes appearances.

The spell is one of Vearn's signature abilities, one that he makes full use of even in his wizened form. It is said that the spell has been referred to by its name since ancient times out of respect for its tremendous power. The spell deals devastating damage even against those who using armour that resists magic, such as Hyunckel's Dark Armour Spear.

Kaiser Phoenix can be learned by Dark King Vearn at level 15 and costs 12 MP to cast. It inflicts a large amount of Frizz-type spell damage to a single enemy.
Dragon Quest Tact
Kaiser Phoenix can be learned by Dark King Vearn at level 54 and costs 133 MP to cast. It has a range of three squares in front of him and inflicts major Frizz-type spell damage to all enemies in a rectangular area of effect. Upgrading the spell increases its damage and reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast.

Etymology
Kaiser is the German word for emperor. A phoenix is a sacred immortal bird associated with Greek mythology that cyclically regenerates itself or is born again after bursting into flames. There are analogues for firebirds in many cultures around the world.
