Pegasus

Pegasus is a flying horse used for transportation in Dragon Quest VI. He is the fifth and final form of transportation and is required to reach the demon world.

Relation to Falchion

Falchion is a wild horse found early in the game in the phantom world. He is tamed by the hero and carver so that the wagon can be used. Much later in the game, a statue of Pegasus is found at the top of the Pegasus Tower. Falchion joins with the statue to become Pegasus the legendary flying horse.

Transport to the demon world

Pegasus is controlled by the Reigns of Pegasus which are given after freeing him from his statue. While flying, the game uses the mode 6 graphic capabilities of the SNES. Pegasus also has the ability to fly directly to the demon world, and is the only method of reaching it.
