The Lover lamp is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VII. It is a peculiar variant of the Malevolamp that wears gaudy makeup.

Characteristics edit

Lover lamps are bright pink and fuchsia lanterns that float about in midair on the battlefield. Unlike their other lantern cousins, these lamps have a more alluring and showy appearance, wearing heavy eye makeup, bright red lipstick instead of displaying a toothy grin, smooth silver handles, and rounded pink lids. In battle, these lanterns specialise in sewing chaos amongst enemies, sending them into confusion with their Fuddle spell or attempting to stun them into inaction with the dreaded Puff-Puff technique. They share the ability to call upon Djinn genies to assist them in battle with Vigilanterns, as well.

Dragon Quest Rivals edit

Lover lamp appeared in the 9th card pack, "Reunion and Oath of Lotozetasia" as a normal card exclusive for Fortune Teller leaders.

Trivia edit

Lover lamps are the only monster in Dragon Quest VII capable of using Puff-Puff in battle.
