The Freezing wingwyrm is a monster that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VII. It is a purple-scaled dragon with a serpentine body and an ice-cold breath.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Twisted wicked wyrms that are constantly turning through the air in flight, only to land and lash out with crippling claws and blasts of blisteringly cold frozen breath. They are also strangely skilled in curative magic, casting Multiheal to heal every monster in the close area. Their tough scales make them completely immune to wind attacks.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The Freezing wingwyrm's original English name, Behemoth, and its Japanese name reference the Behemoth from the Biblical Book of Job. It is a great and mighty beast shown to Job by God, often paired with the sea monster Leviathan, and is described as the king of beasts. In modern English, a behemoth has come to mean a huge or monstrous person or thing.
