The AU-1000 is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

The AU-1000 is a quadrupedal, multi-armed robotic monster with gold plating, wielding a weapon in each of its arms. In its lower arms, it wields a pair of curved broadswords, while in its upper arms, it wields a pair of golden crossbows. Much like other mechanical monsters in the series, it has a singular photoreceptor on its head. They can perform vicious slashing attacks with their swords and land desperate attacks, as well as emitting a blinding flash of light that can dazzle opponents.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The AU in the monster's name refers to Au, the symbol used for gold on the periodic table, indicating the monster's golden colour scheme.
  • The Japanese name, Gold Mazinger (ゴールドマジンガ, Gōrudo Majinga?) is both a reference to the Überkilling machine's Japanese name Killer Mazinger (キラーマジンガ, Kirā majinga?) and in turn the Super Robot Mazinger Z. In Japanese, Mazinger sounds like the English word "Machine" and also Majin, which means evil spirit or demon god.
