The iron fan is a recurring fan in the Dragon Quest series. It is an unconventional weapon not to be sneered at due to its strength.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
The iron fan has an attack bonus of +22 and costs 650 gold. It can only be equipped by Maya, and is available in Havre Leon and Bath.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The iron fan has an attack bonus of +47. It can only be equipped by Red and she joins the party with it equipped. It can also be purchased in Orkutsk for 1,600 gold and sold for 800 gold. The iron fan only appears in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game.
