Characteristics

Jackanapes are large gorilla-like monsters with brown fur, the long tails of monkeys, and sharp fangs. They are violent beasts, capable of landing desperate attacks to make quick work of unprepared adventurers. Just like real primates, jackanapes travel in troops and won't hesitate to call for help when wounded. The word jackanapes is an archaic term for an ape or monkey, especially a tame one that was kept for entertainment or as a pet.
