The Swinoceros is a monster in the series.

Characteristics edit

Swinoceroses are rhinoceros monsters with a shaggy mane around their necks and an extra pair of horns on their backs. They attack primarily by performing violent charges and thrusts against their opponents, sometimes knocking them down or completely ejecting them from combat. Their names are a combination of the words "swine" and "rhinoceros".

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies edit

There are two different types of Swinoceros, but both share the same entry in the defeated monster list, abilities, resistance tables, and item drops. The ones faced at Tower of Nod have much higher attributes and drop more experience and gold, as well.

In-game description

These raging rhinos love to hit hard with their horns, which often put enemies out of action.

Prone to sickness as children, they grow hale and hearty through the ancient shamanic ritual of rolling in cowpats.
