The unholy bishop is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.

Characteristics edit

The premier sorcerers among monsterkind, these Goddess-less abominations are super achievers in the magical arts and completely forsake physical attacks for incantations. They have bizarre grey-green skin and pointed ears. The bishops are garbed in flowing purple robes worn underneath red and green vestments with a long yellow cape and cover their faces with an unusual red and white mask. They have a chance to drop their garments after being defeated in battle. Among their cornucopia of spells is the dreaded Kathwack, potentially making them party-wiping threats. However, their diabolical training seems to have been mostly for that one spell; the rest are more annoying than threatening. The spellcasters are also held back by their small pool of MP.
