Crimson coral is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a piece of bright red coral collected from seashores or Aquatic monsters that is used as a crafting ingredient.

Crimson coral can be collected at the seashores on Newid Isle and Eastern Wormwood, dropped by Crabids, Knocktopi, Spinchillas, and Belisha beakons, or found randomly in the fountain at a fully upgraded Quester's Rest. It can be sold for 36 gold. Crimson coral is used in the following alchemy recipes:

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Crimson coral is used as a material for crafting weapons, armour, and furniture, or in Alchemy to increase MP absorption rate. It can be picked up from sparkly spots, purchased from a material shop for 250 gold each, or dropped by certain monsters, including Seaslimes, Belisha beakons, and King kelps.

Crimson coral can be purchased from the roving emporium at the Costa Valor, the item shop in Nautica during the second and third acts for 360 gold each, picked up from sparkly spots in the Costa Valor, Puerto Valor, Saikiki Beach in Lonalulu, and Nautica, or dropped by Crabids, Coralossuses, and Seaslimes. It can be sold for 90 gold. Crimson coral is used in the following recipes for the Fun-Size Forge:
- Recipe: Coral hairpin = Crimson coral + Maiden's favour
- Recipe: Dainty dress = Waveweed x2 + Crimson coral
- Recipe: Full fathom fork = Densinium x3 + Crimson coral x2 + Rippledrops + Spellbound bough x2
