Characteristics edit

The dark robe is a long-sleeved black tunic with a tall pointy hood, a purple mantle around the shoulders, and lavender sleeves with a vine design. Attached is a cape with red lining. The robe is highly protective and is designed to protect monster companions from attack spells.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride edit

The Dark robe has a Defence bonus of +55 and reduces damage taken from Frizz, Sizz, Crack, and Woosh spells by 20. It can be equipped by Prestidigitator, Ghost, Hulagan, Old man of the sea, Epipany, Wiz pip, Conkuisitor, Conkjurer, Grudgerigar, Pocus poppet, Chimaera, Snowbird, Powie yowie, Cross eye, Flamethrower, Minidemon, Hellion, Beastmaster, Killing machine, Barbatos, Dwight, and Starkers.

It can be purchased from the shop on the Treasures n' Trapdoors track in Estark's Labyrinth for 16,000 gold and sold for 8,000 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest on 4F of Mt. Zugzwang and another can be found on the Nadirian Treasures n' Trapdoors track.

Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation edit

Appearing exclusively in the smartphone version of the game, the Dark robe has a Defence bonus of +80, a Style bonus of +45, and reduces damage taken from Frizz, Sizz, Crack, and Woosh spells by 20. It can be equipped by Lizzie, Goober, Healie, Spot, Kingsley, Curie, Shelley, and Mercury. It was a limited-time item that could only be obtained by redeeming a special gift code from the Dragon Quest Portal app for Japanese players and was only available during August 2015.
