The Wax murderer is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

Characteristics

Wandering wispy monsters that wield and wave a massive sharp knife for slashing at prey, using the lit wick on the top of their horrific waxy heads to fling Frizz fire magic. They usually creep up on unsuspecting travelers exploring haunted manors, monstrously leaping and lunging out of the dark. Wax drips from atop their heads, leaving behind a trail of ghastly grease that can be used to track their whereabouts.

It can be recruited from Lower Level East of the Knightmare Towers at any difficulty, eventually becoming recruitable in the second part of the storyline from Chapter 1, Episode 3: Searching for Clues. The Wax murderer stars in its own Battle Road and it can also participate in Kon the Knight's Battle Road as a party member.
