The Dragontail whip is a whip in the series.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]
The Dragontail whip has Attack bonus of +52 and can be equipped by the Hero, Warriors, Thieves, Gadabouts, and Sages. It only appears in remake versions of the game. In the Super Famicom and Game Boy Color versions of the game, the whip is received as a prize for completing the third T'n'T track, as well as from a treasure chest in the fourth. However, from the smartphone versions onward, the dragontail whip is obtained as the reward for turning in 70 Mini medals to the collector in Aliahan. It can be sold for 4,950 gold.

The Dragontail whip has an Attack bonus of +52, a Style bonus of +33, and can be equipped by the Hero, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased for 7,500 gold from Wetlock, Providence, and Aeolus Vale and can be sold for 3,750 gold. It has a 1⁄64 chance of being dropped by Blazing wingwyrms and Rashaveraks.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, it has a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Blue dragons. It can also be received as a reward for completing a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Wingwyrm, Rashaverak, or Wide-load weighvern as a boss.

The Dragontail whip has an Attack bonus of +33 and, like all whips, targets all enemies when attacking. It is received as a reward for completing Rank A of the Monster Arena on Xeroph Isle. It also has a small chance of being dropped by Dragurns and Frou-frous.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2[edit | edit source]
The Dragontail whip has an Attack bonus of +42 and targets all enemies when attacking. It can be purchased for 6,700 gold from the item vending machine onboard the Albatross after upgrading it to level 9 and it can be sold for 670 gold. It also has a small chance of being dropped by Frou-frous.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit | edit source]

The Dragontail whip has an Attack bonus of +68, a Blocking bonus of +20, and can only be equipped by Jessica. It can be purchased for 22,000 gold on the Stonecloud after the Siege of Dawnholm and can be sold for 11,000 gold.
Dragon Quest Heroes II[edit | edit source]
The Dragontail whip has an Attack bonus of +102 and can be equipped by Lazarel and Teresa as a Mage, Thief, or Sage, as well as Jessica. It can be purchased from the weapon merchant for 32,040 gold once the party reaches the Ad Hoc Encampment.
