Characteristics edit
A beautiful curved sword made from light blue metal. It has a wing design as a guard, an orange jewel at the base of the blade, and a purple hilt. When used as a tool in battle, it will cast Buff on a single party member. Due to its light weight, the sword can even be wielded by characters who cannot use heavier swords. In the Official Guide Book for the Super Famicom version of Dragon Quest V, the faerie foil has the design of a rapier-like sword with feathers on the hilt.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride edit
The Faerie foil has an Attack bonus of +85 and can be equipped by Bianca, Nera, Debora, the Daughter, Chimaera, Grudgerigar, Pocus poppet and Snowbird. It can be found in a treasure chest at the Neverglade. It can also be purchased for 7,700 gold at the Spring Treasures n' Trapdoors board item shop and sold for 3,850 gold. The sword also has a 1⁄32 chance of being dropped by Hyperpyrexion and Strongylokrotaphus.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past edit
The Faerie foil has an Attack bonus of +58, a Style of +30, and can be equipped by the Hero, Sir Mervyn, and Aishe. It can be purchased for 8,500 gold at Highendreigh Tower from the merchant during the flood, Hubble, Aeolus Vale, and the [[Mountain Mart] and sold for 4,250 gold. The faerie foil can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at Buccanham and the Haven's Casinos.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, a faerie foil can be received as a reward by creating a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Terracotta warrior as the boss.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined edit
The Faerie foil has an Attack bonus of +52, a Charm bonus of +18, and can be equipped by the Hero, Maribel, Aishe, and Sir Mervyn. When used as a tool in battle, it will cast Buff. It can be purchased for 5,000 gold during the second visit to Greenthumb Gardens in the past and sold for 2,500 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest outside of the Likeness of the Great Evil after story events. Faerie foil is a 3♦ prize from the Lucky Panel at Pilgrim's Rest in the present and a 2♦ prize after the Demon King's resurrection.

Dragon Quest X edit
The Faerie foil was added to the game in version 6.2 and is a one-handed sword with an Attack bonus of +215, a Magical Might bonus of +22, a Style bonus of +26, and increases the wielder's Weight by 16. It increases all elemental damage by +3% and has a 5% chance of automatically casting Buff when the wielder takes any action. It has an equipment level of 118 and can be equipped by Warriors, Gladiators, Paladins, Armamentalists, Fortune Tellers, Gadabouts, Demon Swordsmen, and Guardians. The sword can be crafted by a weapon blacksmith.
Dragon Quest Treasures edit
The Faerie foil is Treasure No. 111 in the Weapons category and can be found on Cinderback Ridge. It has a base value of 1,300,000 gold.

Dragon Quest Tact edit
The Faerie foil is an A-rank sword that can be acquired as part of the original Dragon Quest V event. It has ATK bonus of +11, a max HP bonus of +36, and increases Zap-type physical potency by 4%. It has three slots for Alchemy Effects. One of the potential effects is increasing the potency of Bianca's Zenithian Strike. The sword can be received as a reward for completing Chapter 1, Episode 5 of the event quests, from the Upper Level West level of the Knightmare Towers, or purchased from the Event Swap Shop.
