The Gnumesis is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past.

It is an enormous horned beast that hails from the demon world.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Massive great hulking beasts that loom high above adventurers' heads, found lurking in only the darkest and most dangerous places. They use their massive feet to cause deadly damage and whilst they are mighty physical attackers, they can still cast a Magic Barrier to protect themselves from any slung spells. According to its bestiary description in X, there is fierce debate among monsters about whether the Gnumesis belongs to the Beast or Demon family.
