The holy talisman is a recurring accessory in the Dragon Quest series.
It is a ring decorated with a holy symbol that guards its wearer against instant death magic.

The Holy talisman has a Defence boost of +10, reduces the effectiveness of Whack-type spells by 50%, and can be equipped by all characters. It can only be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be mixed to create a Holy silver rapier or Zombie slayer. It can be sold for 2,400 gold for the first five sold, reduces to 1,680 gold for the sixth through tenth sold, then dropping even further to 720 gold from the eleventh onward.
