The Stump grump is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IV.
It is a stronger variant of the Stump chump that has learn how to use magic.
Stump grumps are the felled remains of trees with green wood and purple leaves, brought to life by being infused with evil magic. They use their sorcery to put their foes to sleep and drain them of their magic with their peculiar dance moves. The stump grumps are nocturnal by nature and can be found dozing away at the base of trees during the day, only becoming active at nighttime.

Stump grump appears as a C-rank monster of the Nature family during the second part of the limited "Behold the Ultimate Automaton! Battle the Mindini Hunter!" event. It can be recruited from Chapter 2, Episode 4 of the event quests and it can participate in the Kisser's Battle Road as a party member.
