The powie yowie is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest IV.

It is a furry white yeti and is known for its relatively strong attack, which involves the beast slapping its hands together, causing grievous bodily harm.

Several friendly NPC version of this monster appear in some areas of the game. One appears in Havre Léon where it is seen in a jailhouse despite being friendly. Another is seen at a small house on an unnamed island in the game, living with an old man who likes the monster. And another Powie yowie appears in Rosehill, where it very much loves Rose and is saddened by her kidnapping and her death.

It is seen in the normal credits of the game along with the other inhabitants, mourning at Rose's grave. In Template:DQ6 Chapter 6, Rose's grave continues to appear in Rosehill, with the Powie yowie continuing to mourn over her. It becomes shocked when the party revives her using the Yggdrasil flower.
