The Zaptile is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Zaptiles are yellow-skinned frog monsters that charge electricity in their bodies. Contrary to their appearance and English name, they are actually amphibians. Their eyes are constantly closed, they have wings with blue membranes behind their heads, and they have long tails. Using their stored electricity, they are able to unleash bolts of lightning. They have the distinction of being the only monster among its variants that belongs to the Aquatic family since it is a frog, rather than a dragon.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

Zaptile appeared from the beginning of the game. It can perform an attack with its tail, as well as use Lightning and Sweet Breath.
