An Axe knight appears in Episode 23 "Trojan Dragon".  It appeared in a cave guarding both the [[Flame sword]] and the [[Silver shield]], only to lose both of them to Captain N. Axe knight is the only other character besides the [[Dragonlord]], [[Blue dragon]] and [[Slime]]s that appeared in the series.  Axe knight is immune to the Zapper, while dodged due to Kevin's use of the pause button on his Power Pad.

The Knight errant is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in the original Dragon Quest. It is an suit of animated armor.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Given mobility by sheer malevolence, Knight errants are blue bruisers in the service of the Dragonlord. Despite their similarities to the Restless armour, the sheer amount of hatred packed into their mail classifies them as members of the Demon family rather than Material.

Despite official illustrations showing the monster wielding an axe and a shield, none of the errant's sprites reflect this. Instead, the knights arm up as they change color and gain new nomenclature.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

  • Errant is an antiquated term that refers to a traveling person, or one who is wandering. The Knight errant (wandering knight) is a stock character in chivalric romance.
  • The Japanese name, Yoroi no Kishi (よろいのきし), which directly means armoured horseback samurai (i.e. Japanese cavalrymen), but kishi is also used to mean "knight", especially in the style of the European middle ages.
