The Queen slime is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest X .
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Queen slimes are the female counterpart of the king slime. These slimes are made of pink jelly and they wear red rouge makeup on their cheeks, along with false eyelashes. To contribute to their royal aspect they wear a silver crown with a turquoise jewel with a white cloth cap. Despite putting on charming airs, the queen slimes are consistently described as being cold-blooded and shrewdly calculating. In battle, this translates to mastery of ice magic, lobbing Kacrack and Kacrackle at parties while using other slimes to guard herself.
In various spinoff games, a queen slime is also able to be formed from the slimification of eight pink slimes, much like their male counterparts. They are also associated with cutie slimes, using them as handmaidens to maintain their appearance, with some speculating that cuties can also congeal into queens.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]
Queen slimes were alluded to in promotional materials before the game was released, and were a part of the game at launch with version 1.0. Queen slimes are the most powerful slime monsters after the Emperor slime, and can be found in groups of King slimes. A queen slime will cast Kacrack and Magic Barrier under normal conditions, but if her HP is lowered to 2/3rds then she will become Enraged and cast Kacrackle with a higher critical spell chance.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]
Queen slimes do not appear as enemies in any version of the game, but they do make cameo appearances in the slot machines at the various Casinos. When one appears, she will re-roll one bar of the slot machine and guarantee a winning combination.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Queen slime first appeared as a S-rank monster of the Slime family during the Slime Fest on her own banner alongside the Dragon slime. Starting with Version 4.0 of the game, she can be scouted from any banner, including the Regular SP Scout. The Queen slime can participate in the Pickled slime's Battle Road as a party member. She appears as a boss in Chapter 2, Episode 5 of the Slime Fest event quests, as well as the EX boss battle alongside the other royal Slimes. The Queen slime is able to summon other Slimes to protect her in battle when she is threatened, referencing her ability to do so in X.
