The Iron nail, also known as the iron nails, is a recurring item in the Dragon Quest series. It is a common building material that is used as a crafting ingredient.

Dragon Quest VIII[edit | edit source]

The first iron nail can be obtained by talking to the former bandit at Peregrin Quay and another can be found at the Ruined Abbey. They can also be commonly dropped by Canniboxes, Clockwork cuckoos, Iron scorpion, Magic marionettes, Mimics, Mimic kings, and Robo-robins. It can be sold for 10 gold coins. Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit | edit source]

Iron nails can be dropped by Slime knights and Skeletons, found randomly in barrels and treasure chests on the Stonecloud, or exchanged for 1 Mini medal from King Flaminio. They can be sold for 2 gold coins or can be used to create Gold bracers, Gold chains, and Gold rings in the Alchemy Pot. Three iron nails are required to complete Quest #029: Hard as Nails.
