In the postgame, bolts can be purchased at the item shops at the Havens Above and Trial Isle for 2,000 gold and sold for 500. More bolts can be found in the Hotto Steppe - Southern Whale Way Station, the Fortress of Fear, and Puerto Valor*. It can also be dropped by Platinum poppets, Golden girls, Bamboozlers, and Bamboogiemen.

Technicolour dreamcloth is used in the following recipes in the Fun-Size Forge:

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below[edit | edit source]

Technicolour dreamcloth can be dropped by Boss trolls and Genie sanguinis or received from King Flaminio in exchange for 5 Mini medals each. It can be used in the quick recipes for the Goddess ring and Nacreous necromonocle, as well as the classic recipe for the Rousing ring in the Alchemy Pot or sold for 52 gold. Two bolts of technicolour dreamcloth are required to complete Quest #63: Any Dreamcloth Will Do.

Dragon Quest Heroes II[edit | edit source]

Technicolour dreamcloth is used as a material for improving various accessories or sold for 52 gold. It can be dropped by Fightgeists, Genie sanguinis, and Multicolour mannequins.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The technicolour dreamcloth's English name is a reference to the 1972 musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which was written by English author Tim Rice with music by famed English composer and impresario Andrew Lloyd Webber. The musical itself features a garment owned by Joseph in the Hebrew Bible known as the coat of many colors.

  • In Dragon Quest Heroes, the quest Any Dreamcloth Will Do also references "Any Dream Will Do", one of the popular songs from the musical.
