The balhib (originally Gold Golem / GoldGolem due to display constraints; not to be confused with the golem  palette swap, and Golden Golem in fan-translations) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest V, it is a winged, centaur-like monster armed with an axe and brilliant, gold skin.
The Balhib is a monster in the series.

Characteristics
Characteristics
Balhibs are centaur-like, having an upper torso emerging from where the neck of a quadrupedal beast would start. They have six limbs: two arms with metal wristbands and four legs armed with talons. They are winged and have a single thick tail, have purple facial hair and a flowing mane, and wield a large axe.
Balhibs are winged, centaur-like monsters with golden skin and a reptilian lower half that terminates in a long tail, wielding a battle axe in both hands. Their upper body is that of a muscular older man with a tall pair of horns, a wild mane of long purple hair, and a bushy mustache and eyebrows. As indicated by their original names, they are made of gold and will drop a very large sum when defeated. In some games, they are considered demons.

They are usually portrayed as powerful monsters, having many strengths granted to them. As indicated by their original names, they are apparently made of gold and will drop a very large amount of it when defeated.

The Balhib is a Rank A monster in Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2. One can be synthesized by mixing four monsters: a magmalice, a firn fiend, a golem and a gold golem.
* The word balhib is a term used by medieval Egyptians to refer to the Great Sphinx of Giza, a statue depicting a sphinx, which is a mythological creature that had the head of a man and the body of a lion.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

Balhibs are winged, centaur-like monsters with golden skin and a reptilian lower half that terminates in a long tail, wielding a battle axe in both hands. Their upper body is that of a muscular older man with a tall pair of horns, a wild mane of long purple hair, and a bushy mustache and eyebrows.
