The Drakulard is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest VII, they are bipedal dragons of noticeable girth.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Girthy grand green dragons with massive claws used for mashing enemies and smashing straight into the ground in order to cause outright earthquakes. Their fiery breath hits a party of adventurers hard, getting increasingly hot as the battle goes on. They even pack strong wind magic, letting loose with the Kaswoosh spell when they feel threatened.

| Field Notes | A legendary lizard of epic proportions. Its brobdingnagian hulk protects it against all ordinary attacks. Other monsters often mistake it for a mountain, and try to scale its scaly sides and plant flags in its forehead. |

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Despite being named for their obese appearance, the Drakulards and its variants are not the most proportionally portly dragons. This distinction goes to the Jargon and their variants.
- Their appearance and coloring in their Dragon Quest Monsters 2 sprite is different from other artworks of this monster. This is likely because it was based on an earlier, non-finalised design.
