The Gem jamboree is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest IX. It is a golden version of the Slime stack known for dropping large quantities of gold when defeated.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
A Gem jamboree is simply an organized stack of three different gold slimes: all being very similar shiny colours, showing just how much they're worth if defeated. The slime at the very top is slightly orange, the one in the middle being yellow gold, while the slime at the bottom is a dark shade of gold. Given that they are three Gold slimes working together, they are fairly formidable when first confronted and especially exceed the sum of their parts, but are prone to fleeing much like other Metal slimes, taking all of their gold with them. According to their monster description in X, gem jamborees are highly coveted in social circles due to their golden bodies and they are kept as pets by upper-class young ladies as a status symbol.
