The Admirer is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V.
It is a jelly-like monster that can take on the form of anyone in the party, complete with their copied stats and abilities. Its name is a pun based on the words "admire" and "mire".
Characteristics
Admirers are amorphous, gelatinous monsters that have the uncanny ability to replicate the strength, appearance, and fighting skills of adventurers. Even before they transform, they can solidify their bodies to protect themselves from harm. The Admirer is a blob-like monster, but despite all appearances it is actually quite springy in nature. The original appearance of the admirer was red in colour, but on all subsequent appearances the colour was changed to a shade of neon green.
According to their monster description in IX, their green colouration is a result of being raised by bubble slimes. In later games, the admirers have lost their ability to replicate adventurers, instead gaining the ability to weaken their opponents with magic.

Admirers appeared from the beginning of the game. They no longer defend themselves, but they will still cast Blunt to weaken any attackers as in the previous game. Admirers are usually hidden on the field and cannot be seen normally unless a player equips the Underground goggles accessory or with the help of the Fortune Teller's passive ability to see hidden enemies through divination.
