The '''Tearwolf''' is a recurring {{MFamilies}} in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in the original {{Dragon Quest}}.  

Tearwolves are bipedal [[Beast family|wolfmen]] with blue tunics and boots. They wear belts with a purple gemstone as a buckle around their waists. The wolves were originally depicted with golden coats and purple tunics, but in later appearances, their fur became a darker orange color and their tunics and boots are now dark blue. Unlike their brown-furred cousins, the tearwolves forgo any kind of spellcasting ability in favor of greater physical attributes. In later games, they began utilizing [[Tension]] to deliver attacks of greater ferocity against their opponents.
