Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen
Burland is the central location for the territory, with King Burnard currently ruling over it and Strathbaile. It was founded by Roburt the Burruce who defend it when it was a small hamlet, due to the aid of a special shield.[1]
When the women of Strathbaile explain that their children have disappeared and beg for help, the King dispatches all of his soldiers to look for the youths. Rganar McRyan is also deployed, and uncovers the greater mystery behind the disappearances at the Loch Tur west of Strathbaile.
The King keeps the taxes down, much to the benefit and approval of his citizens, but this also means that his soldiers are stuck with the bare minimum gear and must purchase better armaments on their own. The King's grandfather once attempted to woo the Queen of Femiscrya, offering up the Zenithian shield as a gift.
Additionally, Maya Mahabala's fame extends to Burland Castle as one soldier travels to Laissez Fayre to see her performance.[2]
