The Archdemon is a monster in the series.
Characteristics
Archdemons are large, bulky bipedal demons with pinkish-purple skin, a large pair of wings on their back, a pair of horns on their heads, and a pointy tail. It wears a pair of green gloves and boots and wields a pitchfork. These monsters are usually a force to be reckoned with; capable of dealing heavy physical hits, but also casting advanced offensive magics to destroy its opponents. It has a particular affinity for explosive magic, being commonly associated with the spell Kaboom. In the monster descriptions of the archdemon from various games, it is stated that the minidemons are the juvenile forms of archdemons even though, with the exception of V, their colours do not match up. The imp, however, has a purple colour scheme, which is used by the minidemon in V.

- A friendly archdemon residing in Tryan Gully informs the party that David was only to be told of his connection to the Seven Sages when ready.
Archdemons first appear in Version 1.0 of the game in the boss battle against Nelgel. After taking a certain amount of damage, he will summon a pair of archdemons and a Belial to fight against the adventurers. They can deflect attacks with their pitchforks and have their familiar ability to cast Kaboom, which has a high chance of going haywire when they are enraged. Starting with Version 4.0, archdemons gained a rarefied version in the form of the dessert demon.
Archdemons appear as part of the Dark Army, typically as the personal guard of Dark Commander Hadlar. When Hadlar confronts the heroes on Valge Island, there are individual archdemons seen wielding flails instead of their usual pitchforks. In the 2020 anime series, these flail-wielding demons now have blue skin and wear purple gloves and boots. They appear to be stronger than their pink-skinned counterparts.

Trident-toting terrors who flatten foes with mighty magic before bringing their bestial brawn to bear. Rumour has it that minidemons turn into archdemons with age. They certainly share some striking similarities. |
