Dragon Quest X
Dragon Quest of the Stars
Dragon Quest Walk
A privateer who's at his best when doing battle on the high seas. A master of both attack and defence. --Description from Dragon Quest VII

The Pirate (海賊, Kaizoku) is one of the intermediate vocations introduced in Dragon Quest VII. Keeping with the title's nautical theme, they embody the ferocity and unpredictability of the seven seas.

Description

The pirate is toughened by the high seas and a life of banditry, marooning monsters with salty skills and plundering items after battle. The pirate combines the skills of a Sailor and a Thief and requires mastery of both to unlock. Pirates are unique among VII's vocation in that they possess two traits: becoming highly resistant to Maelstrom and more prone to pilfer as they advance in rank.

Getting this vocation to level 99 is a requisite to unlock the Space Pirate vocation.

Dragon Quest Walk

Pirates as they appear in Walk.

Pirates were added to the game in a February 2021 update. A character must have first reached level 50 in the warrior and thief vocations to unlock the Pirate, and the weapon choices are Axes, Knives, Spears, and Boomerangs.

Notable Pirates

  • Sharkeye is a brave pirate who sails the high seas against the Demon King and his forces
  • Red owns a sailing vessel and has been known to go out on treasure raids
  • Captain Crow
